Painting Title: Power of Three
Description: Every artist reaches points in their creative lifetime when they feel “Blocked”.  I had explained to my dear friend Cara that after 15 years of painting & teaching Decorative Art,  I was “Blocked” and feeling uninspired.  Her Christmas Gift, that year, was Art Lessons with Gene Prokop (www.prosartschool.com). This was my very first painting with Gene.  I felt rejuvenated and so very inspired.  It was through the “Power of 3″  Cara, Gene and myself, that my art turned a significant corner.

Painting Title:  Blue Vase with Ivy
Description: This Painting was created Alla Prima.  I set up a Still Life - draped and lit.  What makes this creation special is that when I was much younger I took class after class trying to find my creative outlet.  Pottery, Advertising Art, Calligraphy, etc.  This Blue Vase is the one and only piece of pottery that I created (over 30 years ago) that I use daily and enjoy immensley.  All of the other pottery was in a box slated for a garage sale…needless to say it somehow ended up at my Mom’s house when she discovered it in the box.  God bless our Mom’s for their never ending belief in us and all of our art!  The original oil is 24 x 12 and framed in an amazing Gold Leaf/Midnight Blue 4″ Frame.

Painting Title:  Brass Pitcher with Fruit
Description:  I’ve always been intriqued with metalic vessels.  Brass, pewter, silver.  These are challenging to recreate!  I had a great time painting this still life and found myself immersed in it’s creation to the point that time seemed to stand still and then suddenly it seemed to appear on my canvas… a fasinating transformation from paint and brush strokes to Brass….
