Bowen Island is an amazing place to live...and I love painting the beaches, ocean and surrounding places... Finisterre Island is attached by a sandy causeway at low tide only (and Tunnel) - privately owned.... but a great feature to paint! Cates bay is one of the best! The driftwood on the beach is amazing too.
Finisterre Island and Cates Beach
Finisterre rests beyond the bay,
Where mist and memory drift away.
A quiet crown of rock and green,
Half in shadow, half unseen.
The tide hums low, the herons glide,
Through silver air and shifting tide.
Each ripple tells of passing years,
Of whispered hopes, of vanished fears.
Cates Beach gleams in morning light,
Soft and still, yet wild and bright.
Pebbles glisten, smooth and round,
Echoing laughter, ocean sound.
Between the two, the water weaves,
Through cedar scent and fallen leaves.
A gentle bond, both near and far,
Held beneath the same pale star.
Bowen breathes in calm embrace,
A meeting point of time and space.
Where hearts grow quiet, spirits reach—
To Finisterre Isle and Cates Beach.
